Off the Strip (Spring Valley)

X marks the spotSo apparently I’ve been so incredibly busy that there hasn’t been a post in over a month. My bad! I was on a good roll there for a while posting a review almost every week… There are a few new places that have opened up in the last couple weeks so I’ll do my best to get into them since we finally have something new in town to talk about, as opposed to the one you’re about to read. That probably wasn’t the best segue into this review, but I’m here to talk about an off-Strip location that happens to be called Off the Strip. In doing a quick google search there are actually two places in town with this same name, I’m referring to the location on Tropicana in a former Timbers space. Wildburger

looks goodI feel like I’m so out of touch with ‘the’ places to try lately, I’m not fully in the food scene in town, but instead get recommendations occasionally from readers or inspiration from articles in the Weekly or something. Such is the case with Wildburger; I read an article by my buddy Jim Begley in the Weekly and thought I should try it out for myself. I think Jim’s writing as well as many of the other reviewers is great, but are almost always positive so I was curious to see for myself. How did it fare? continue reading »

All-American Bar & Grille

big plateAfter living in Vegas for over 8 years now I’ve eaten quite a few burgers all over town, but since starting this blog I’ve had to look at many of them in a whole new light. One burger I’ve eaten many times is the one at All-American Bar & Grille at the Rio because I used to work down the street.
