Freddy’s Steakburgers

August 10th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

looks wimpyI don’t typically eat at or review fast food chains, but when I discover one that I haven’t heard of I’m often intrigued to try it. Such was the case with Original Tommy’s Hamburgers last year, and that didn’t go well. Freddy’s Steakburgers recently opened near my office; it’s a chain I’ve never been to but since there aren’t any other locations in town I figured I’d check it out and report for everyone. Did it work out any better than Tommy’s? continue reading »

looks goodI feel like I’m so out of touch with ‘the’ places to try lately, I’m not fully in the food scene in town, but instead get recommendations occasionally from readers or inspiration from articles in the Weekly or something. Such is the case with Wildburger; I read an article by my buddy Jim Begley in the Weekly and thought I should try it out for myself. I think Jim’s writing as well as many of the other reviewers is great, but are almost always positive so I was curious to see for myself. How did it fare? continue reading »

Delmonico Steakhouse

May 11th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

nothing crazyI feel like Twitter is pretty useless so far; I have an ok amount of followers I guess, but I feel like they’re all following so many people that anything I say gets lost in the mess of their feed. I could tweet all day and get very little response to anything aside from a couple loyal folks on there. And it was one such reader that led me to Delmonico recently for what he claimed to be an excellent burger. He’s a food writer in town so he should know what he’s talking about, right? continue reading »

Skybox (CLOSED)

April 20th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

understated plateMy ‘Burgers to-do’ list in my phone is constantly growing, and I tend to knock off the ones I’m more excited about as opposed to places that have been on the list for a long time. Such is the case with Skybox at Aria, it’s been on my list for well over a year but I’ve had no desire to make my way in there. Having to be on the strip yet again for a meeting around lunch time I took the opportunity to check off one more typically avoided strip location. Was it worth the wait? continue reading »

SinCity Burgers (CLOSED)

March 27th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

might be ok?I still get excited when I come across a new place that no one has told me about in the hopes that I’ve discovered some gem in the city. But I guess my rule that if no one mentions a place it’s probably for a good reason, or it’s at least located in a part of town that no one would ever find it. In the case of SinCity Burgers (yes it is one word); I think the latter would apply, although the former is equally questionable. continue reading »

All-American Bar & Grille

March 27th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

big plateAfter living in Vegas for over 8 years now I’ve eaten quite a few burgers all over town, but since starting this blog I’ve had to look at many of them in a whole new light. One burger I’ve eaten many times is the one at All-American Bar & Grille at the Rio because I used to work down the street. I remembered it being decent, but how does it hold up now that I’m being completely subjective? continue reading »

Broadway Burger Bar and Grill

February 28th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

big bun!Keeping with the theme of eating at burger joints I’ve never heard of for a reason, I recently stumbled upon Broadway Burger Bar and Grill while at the New York New York Hotel & Casino for work. I’m always excited when I come across a place that’s stayed under my radar, especially in one of the casinos right on the strip. Sadly, this one has never been mentioned to me for a reason. continue reading »
