Ogden’s Hops & Harvest (CLOSED)

June 25th, 2013 by Erik Chudy

looks prettyTivoli Village is definitely creating a lot of buzz lately with all of its new restaurants; it’s just a pity that they haven’t brought any decent shopping to the table to bring in a few more bodies into the area. While I have mixed feelings about some of them, restaurants like Poppy Den, View, Cantina Laredo and many others have been gaining popularity with the locals. None of this was enough to keep Bottles & Burgers around, but that’s ok as we already have a replacement in the space with Bradley Ogden’s Hops & Harvest. Complete with a burger similar to what he formerly offered at Caesar’s, Ogden’s new restaurant hopes to add craft beers, farm to table comfort food and his famous burger to this growing food scene. I had to venture in there to sample this burger, as the last time I had it I was totally disappointed. Sadly, my recent experience will be just as controversial. continue reading »

Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill

Historically this scenario ends in disaster; I hate succumbing to peer pressure and ordering the default burger on some menu because I’m the ‘burger guy’ and everyone wants to watch me eat one, but in this case it actually turned out fairly well. continue reading »

Gordon Ramsay BurGR (a revisit)

beautiful burgerI have so many burgers on my to-do list, but after the fallout of my tournament I realize there’s a lot of places I didn’t completely enjoy the first time that may need a revisit due to overwhelming popularity. One such place is Gordon Ramsay BurGR, which has had almost four times as many page views than any other review I’ve done, and brings in dozens of visitors a day through search engines. Clearly the tourists or some demographic out there is very keen on Mr. Ramsay’s burgers more so than any other place in town. I thought the burger was definitely decent my first time, but iffy service and horrible fries didn’t leave me completely satisfied so I headed back recently to see if they’ve gotten their act together and if it really lives up to all the hype. continue reading »
