Burger Bistro (A Second Take)

March 25th, 2013 by Erik Chudy

onions! For the first time I’m providing you with a second take on a burger meal from a guest reviewer, Lou. Lou is a regular reader and fan of the blog, and also a colleague of mine who shares a passion for burgers and food overall. While this might not be the best meal to have a second review for, it’s still great to read another opinion on the same experience. Here is his review along with a couple photos: continue reading »

Burger Bistro

March 25th, 2013 by Erik Chudy

looks okIt seems as though every casino has to have a feature burger joint now, whether it’s tied to a celebrity chef or not. Gordon Ramsay recently opened one of the more popular ones at Planet Hollywood, long after other chefs opened restaurants at Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Harrah’s, you name it. Some actually hold up fairly well and provide you with some pre-designed burgers to choose from, while others take the lazy do-it-yourself route, such as in the case of my latest meal at Burger Bistro in the LVH. Although burgers are a fairly easy thing to make, it’s even easier for these Vegas properties to throw together a half assed restaurant like this that sell mediocre burgers at insane prices and it’s really starting to piss me off. I’m not going to hide my anger and disappointment anywhere in this article; Burger Bistro’s approach to providing us with another burger joint is just insulting to the scene in town and I want the execs at LVH to know it. continue reading »

View Wine Bar

March 18th, 2013 by Erik Chudy

perfectionI will fully admit that I don’t hide my hatred for over-hyped restaurants on the strip or failed areas of town like Tivoli Village, so it was with great hesitation that I took a few recent suggestions to go try the burger at View Wine Bar. Many restaurants and stores have come and gone from this ghost town of a shopping area, and I question how long anything could survive there based on how few people are around each time I visit. Because no one is ever there I typically assume that this means there’s nothing worthy of perusing or devouring here, but after my most recent visit I couldn’t be more wrong. continue reading »

D Grill

March 11th, 2013 by Erik Chudy

weird cheeseNow that my office is within walking distance of downtown, I could feasibly tackle every casino on Fremont St, although I’m not sure that’s entirely necessary.  Triple George was certainly worth the review, but I’ve questioned the burger worthy choices of everywhere else. Binion’s Café has also come up in the past few weeks, but that will be saved for another week. The D Las Vegas opened fairly recently, along with its D Grill, which several people have mentioned for its burger. I was skeptical, but once it comes up in conversation I must educate myself on any requested burger in town so off I went. continue reading »

Nobhill Tavern (CLOSED)

March 4th, 2013 by Erik Chudy

huge fries! This meal deserves a full review due to both the longevity of this restaurant in Vegas as well as the quality, but you only have until the end of the month before it closes for good so I’ll keep it short and give you time to get there. Nobhill has been in the MGM Grand for over 12 years now and recently announced their closure to make way for a new venue in a couple months. Known for a killer happy hour, they serve a burger on this menu that has somehow gone under my radar until recently. I only wish I was told about this burger earlier.
