Upper Deck Grill and Sports Lounge (CLOSED)

November 26th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

another plain setupThere are many best of burger lists popping up on Yelp and other sites around town, and everyone is trying to interject their secret unknown spot to be included on the list. That’s how I came across Upper Deck Grill and Sports Lounge, and it seems like people are really starting to fetch for a unique location to be included. I love places like the Dispensary Lounge, Badger Café and other off-strip locations, and get a little hesitant when they start entering tourist areas, so you can imagine my hesitation with walking into a golf center. continue reading »

Great Links Hot Dogs & Grill

plain and boringI’m going to abandon my typically structured article and opening ‘cliffhanger’ paragraph and just skip right to it on this one: this sucked. Great Links’ website claims right on the main page that they were voted the best burger in Las Vegas (!!!!). Who were they up against? This is insane! I know everyone has their own opinions, including me, but out of the 70+ burger places I’ve eaten at in town I’d say 95% of them are better than this. Who the hell voted? What other places was this up against? Come on! continue reading »

Fat Boy Restaurant

have I seen this before? To be filed in the ‘shady part of town’ category, I recently visited Fat Boy Restaurant in the north east part of town. You can thank me now; I risked life and limb to increase my cholesterol level and try one more burger for you all to read about. I came across Fat Boy in a recent Yelp post about burgers along with a few other oddball places that are high on my list to try. It’s not very often that I drive into the depths of North Las Vegas for anything, let alone a burger, so this better have been worth it. Was it? continue reading »

Sammy’s LA Pastrami & Burgers

November 8th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

that's a lot of stuff! There’s a trio of burger locations in the East Tropicana area of town that are kind of lumped together as classic, ‘must have’ places to try. I have already visited and been pleasantly surprised by The Dispensary Lounge and The Badger Café, it was only a matter of time before I visited Sammy’s LA Pastrami & Burgers. I’ve received plenty of comments on the three, and have equally read plenty about them on the internet. So after finally closing out the set, how does Sammy’s stack up with the rest? continue reading »
