Fuddruckers

August 27th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

cafeteria meal?I’ve had more than a few people recommend Fuddruckers since I’ve started my blog, but I somehow always forget about it when I’m trying to figure out where to eat. When craving for a burger the other day my girlfriend mentioned it and it sounded like a good idea at the time. This review could very well mark the first time that I planned a revisit before I even left the building, and not because it was so good I knew I had to go back for more. Why did that happen? continue reading »

KGB (a revisit)

August 27th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

wide plateEven though I have about two dozen places on my to-do list, once in a while I need to revisit a previously reviewed location due to either reader feedback or in the case of KGB, the lack of pictures and just a downright awful first review. So it was with great hesitation that I ventured back to Harrah’s last week to see if Kerry would be any better to me this time around. Was he? continue reading »

Boise Fry Company

August 24th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

purple fries!I recently had the pleasure of visiting Boise for the first time, and like I do with all new cities my first thought is “where should I eat?” So I reached out to my twitter followers for opinions and quickly got back the Boise Fry Company. The website features a clip of their restaurant featured on the Food Network, and touts some very interesting potato choices and healthy cooking methods so this instantly made my trip all the more exciting. And although they take a second stage to the fries, the burgers looked really good. So how did my Boise burger adventure turn out? continue reading »

The Badger Cafe

August 10th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

looking good!I do my best to find hidden gems around town, but with little time and minimal resources or recommendations this is often difficult. There are a few such locations on my to-do list from an old top 10 burger list that I’ve had a hard time getting to, and it’s time I get back to those priorities. I believe the last location that fit the bill was the Dispensary Lounge, and it turned out to be everything I hoped for. First on my list to accomplish was The Badger Cafe; the background sounded similar so I had high hopes. Did it come through? continue reading »

Freddy’s Steakburgers

August 10th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

looks wimpyI don’t typically eat at or review fast food chains, but when I discover one that I haven’t heard of I’m often intrigued to try it. Such was the case with Original Tommy’s Hamburgers last year, and that didn’t go well. Freddy’s Steakburgers recently opened near my office; it’s a chain I’ve never been to but since there aren’t any other locations in town I figured I’d check it out and report for everyone. Did it work out any better than Tommy’s? continue reading »

Rambo’s Kitchen

August 6th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

what's hiding under there? In the spirit of getting back to my original burger ‘to-do’ list from way back, I finally ventured over to Rambo’s Kitchen last week to see what they have to offer. It was on a Vegas top 10 burger list I read a while back but was located in a part of town I rarely went through, but that’s not an excuse any more. What has been an excuse for some time though, are the very polarizing comments and responses on their Yelp page. It seems that they’ve had some issues with customer service from time to time, and instead of just apologizing, their representative on the site tends to be a bit too defensive in his responses. This all made me a little hesitant, but finally decided to evaluate for myself. How did it go? continue reading »

Anthony’s Burger & Brews

August 6th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

looks yummyI lived in the northern-most part of North Las Vegas for the first 7 years I was in town, so when I moved to the south west earlier this year it opened up a whole new world of food choices for me. Everything took me 30+ minutes to get to, and places like the M Casino might as well have been in LA. Even where I live now the M is pretty far out there, so when a friend had a potential business related venture there I tagged along to pay a visit and took the opportunity to check out Anthony’s Burger & Brews. I haven’t really heard much of the place other than that it was the feature burger joint of the M so I didn’t know what to expect. Is it worth the drive to the middle of nowhere? continue reading »
