BLT Burger (a revisit)

May 29th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

they start so innocentI’ve gone for repeat burger visits in the past year or so of this blog’s existence, but those have all been due to relying on a tried and true favorite. This is an instance of me returning to a place I absolutely hated in the hopes that they could turn things around for me. The first time I went to BLT Burger it was so awful that it made me angry; I didn’t use any pictures and barely posted two paragraphs’ worth of information. I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews since that initial visit so I figured I’d go back and see if they were just having an off day, or maybe I was? continue reading »

The Burger Party

it's burger time!Like some of my favorite bourbons, I believe I get better with age. A little over a week ago I turned 35 and it’s kind of a scary thing. It’s not all bad though, I’m probably in better shape than I was 10 years ago even considering the fact that I eat multiple burgers a week. In fact, I even won a Summer Body Challenge recently while maintaining this all-burger diet so my readers can continue to get my opinion on all things burger in Vegas. My birthday really hasn’t gotten much attention in the last several years aside from a few phone calls from immediate family and the dozens and dozens of Facebook ‘friends’ that come out of the woodwork to post an obligatory ‘happy birthday’ comment. The Dispensary Lounge

lookin good!My readership is growing regularly, and along with that comes my list of recommended burgers, which I believe is up to about 30 right now. A few of them have been on the list far too long, but a new comment posted to my site the other day got me excited enough about one to try it a day later. Dispensary Lounge sounds like an awful place, and by the looks of the pictures on Yelp it didn’t seem much better. I typically don’t trust Yelp reviews all that much either, but the comments on there made it sound a lot like Henry’s which I’m a big fan of, so I was quite motivated. Could a $3.95 burger at a local dive bar actually be any good? continue reading »

Delmonico Steakhouse

May 11th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

nothing crazyI feel like Twitter is pretty useless so far; I have an ok amount of followers I guess, but I feel like they’re all following so many people that anything I say gets lost in the mess of their feed. I could tweet all day and get very little response to anything aside from a couple loyal folks on there. And it was one such reader that led me to Delmonico recently for what he claimed to be an excellent burger. He’s a food writer in town so he should know what he’s talking about, right? continue reading »
