Heart Attack Grill

January 26th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

I think I’ve had more people ask me if I’ve been to the Heart Attack Grill than any other place recently, I’m not sure if it’s because the premise is so ridiculous or it’s just that high of a profile compared to other locations in town lately. Fremont Street is one of my favorite places in Vegas, and the silly theme aside, if there was a good burger for me to eat there it just became that much better. Well there already is, but I could use another. I’ve been slightly avoiding the place both because of my diet I’m trying to maintain, but more importantly because they make you wear a hospital gown when you go in. So are the insanely high calories and embarrassing outfits worth it? continue reading »

Bottles & Burgers (CLOSED)

January 26th, 2012 by Erik Chudy

nice presentation, empty plateTivoli Village opened several months ago in Summerlin, providing an even yuppier version of Town Square for the folks living in the western part of our fair city. I really had no desire to go there as I hate shopping, but the recently opened Bottles & Burgers restaurant finally gave me a reason to do so. The name has plenty of promise, as I am quite the fan of the assumed liquids they’re referring to in those bottles, and of course there’s that whole burger thing. A friend went the first week they were open and wasn’t impressed, but we weren’t sure how much of that was due to it being a new restaurant versus if they just weren’t delivering. After my visit I would have to agree with the latter. continue reading »

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar

January 22nd, 2012 by Erik Chudy

damn goodI recently had the pleasure of going out for a burger with a fellow food blogger who turned me onto several great new locations for burgers and some other good food in town. He suggested we meet up at an off-the-strip location that wasn’t anywhere on my radar, and although he’s a much more established writer than yours truly, I really wasn’t sure if I could trust his judgment as I’ve been steered in the wrong path quite often in this town. The restaurant was Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, and luckily so far his recommendations are 1 for 1. continue reading »

Atlanta

January 3rd, 2012 by Erik Chudy

the amazing Holeman & Finch burgerIn keeping up with the tradition of writing about burgers I’ve eaten in other cities, this past weekend I ate at two restaurants in Atlanta that I must mention.  Prior to my trip, Burger Boy had pointed me in the direction of two locations that I “needed” to visit based on some of his research, one of them being the much discussed Flip Burger Boutique.  Sadly, between the wedding I went to and the holiday, I wasn’t able to make it there. Most of the locals I spoke to said it was a great ‘fancy’ burger, so I’ll have to make it back there one day. The second place he had mentioned to me is a place called Holeman & Finch Public House, and it just might be one of the best recommendations anyone has ever given me. continue reading »

The Cracked Egg

January 3rd, 2012 by Erik Chudy

I see lots of lettuce!Still on the hunt for a good burger in an unassuming restaurant, I recently ventured to The Cracked Egg’s Henderson location. It’s been in my to-do list on my phone for a while now, pulled from some Yelp list that hasn’t really brought me any real treats yet. Most people’s recommendations and opinions for food are typically below my expectations, but someone has to come through right? Looks like I might have to keep going on that list. continue reading »
