Five Guys Burgers and Fries

October 3rd, 2011 by Erik Chudy

is that supposed to look good? Some places receive such ridiculous hype that they’re almost asking for a negative review before I even get there, and such is the case with Five Guys. I can’t even sugarcoat this review, or hold you in suspense about my opinion until the end, this place is completely overrated, overpriced, and not worth one ounce of hype. Now if you care to know more, I’ll tell you why. continue reading »

Bachi Burger revisited

October 1st, 2011 by Erik Chudy

Ronin burgerI don’t know if anyone could ever convince me to re-review a restaurant, my first impression is typically good enough for me, and should be for everyone else.  Even if you argue that I went to a location on an ‘off day’ I could really care less, if you are a professional and have opened a restaurant, there should be no such thing as an off day. I will however, go back to a place just for the pure enjoyment if it is good enough. Such is the case with Bachi Burger. I went many months ago, it’s been one of the best burgers I’ve had in Vegas to date and I’ve had many people ask to go there with me. I’ve been twice in the last two weeks, and I’m not sure if I’m glad I went back. continue reading »

the Lucky BurgerThe Vegas ‘street meat’ scene has really taken off as of late, I’ve heard plenty buzz around the Fukuburger truck, Slidin’ Thru…  but how good can a burger be that is made in a dirty-ish, probably re-commissioned vehicle? In this case, actually not too bad. continue reading »

I’ve had many people ask for the ‘expert’s’ opinion on Smashburger expecting some overly positive response, and I think every time I answer them they leave disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a decent burger, but I have my reasons. continue reading »

Triple George

September 14th, 2011 by Erik Chudy

what a sweet setup! If you know me at all, then you’d know that I practically lived at Sidebar for the past year or two. I’m on a first name basis with everyone behind the bar there, as well as most of the folks next door at the Triple George Grill where all their delicious food comes from. Because I’ve been there so much, I have had the time to try almost everything on their menu, but my favorite item is always the burger. Sure the preferential treatment always sweetens the deal, but I won’t even try to hold you in any suspense, this is one tasty burger. continue reading »

Bradley Ogden (CLOSED)

September 6th, 2011 by Erik Chudy

If someone told me I was going to try a $19 burger that Alan Richman of GQ Magazine said was the “best burger I ate this year”, I would be pretty damn excited. And I was, until I ate it. How can a burger that costs $19 that is located in a multi-award winning restaurant suck? Bradley Ogden’s restaurant showed me how. continue reading »

Grind Burger Bar & Lounge (CLOSED)

August 30th, 2011 by Erik Chudy

As the suggestions are starting to roll in, my to-do list is quickly growing so I thought I’d tackle a fairly new and often mentioned location, Grind Burger Bar & Lounge. With a pretty awesome 2 for 1 offer that you can find in most magazines in town, and some additional free items typically found on their website, it all sounded pretty sweet.  Was it? continue reading »
